I know, I'm a slacker blogger. A quick update on my dad. He's progressed quite a bit since my last update. He had gotten to the point where he'd do 50+ laps around the hallways on the ground floor. He thinks he developed a hernia before his stroke, because he remembers the pop and soreness. But, sticking to the same stubbornness that has characterized his entire life, he didn't feel it was important enough to see a doctor about. The hernia has gotten to the point where he can only do about 10 laps at a time. He's on coumadin, so the doctors are reluctant to have him go through surgery. He is doing well enough that he can take care of himself for hours at a time while my mom goes to the thrift shop to work or to the grocery store.
My fundraising for the Janus Charity Challenge has stalled at $2295. If you'd like to contribute, there is still time. Please go to http://januscharitychallenge.kintera.org/lp09/nationalrehabhospital. Thank you!!!
I'm just 6 days away from my fourth Ironman. The back of the packer (BOP'er) that I am, it's just going to be another long training day for me, versus trying to finish as fast as I can. The race starts at 7AM on July 26th. You can track my progress at http://www.ironman.com on the live Ironman Tracker. You can search by my name or my bib number (#69).
